Editorial Policy
This page explains how a company's status verdict is decided and what the labels on our pages mean.
Status verdicts
Each company page shows whether the business is in business, acquired, or closed. A verdict is shown as verified only when all of these are true:
- The status is known (in business, acquired, or closed).
- The page has a verification date, and that date isn't in the future.
- It cites at least two sources on different websites. Several links from the same site count once, and the company's own website doesn't count.
If any of these is missing, the page says Unverified instead of showing a verdict.
Out-of-date verdicts
If a verdict was last verified more than 12 months ago, we show “Last verified” with the date and flag that it may be out of date, and it no longer counts as verified.
“Reported” figures
Revenue and valuation numbers come from public reporting. We label them “reported”. They are not audited figures.
Independence
Some pages contain affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). Commercial relationships never decide which companies we cover or what verdict a page shows.
