About FiberFix
FiberFix is a resin-coated fiberglass wrap for repairs. It is applied wet and then hardens into a stiff shell, so it is used to fix things like broken tool handles, cracked pipes and other household items. Eric Child and Spencer Quinn developed it as students at Brigham Young University and set up the company in Orem, Utah. The founders pitched in Season 5, Episode 6, and Lori Greiner became their partner, putting in $120,000 for a 12% stake. Those terms come from the company's press release and from BYU's alumni magazine. Their original ask is reported only on fan sites, so we do not list it. Greiner's strength in home-shopping television made her a good match for a product that is easy to demonstrate. The wrap sold strongly on QVC right after the episode, and it later reached national home-improvement chains and independent hardware stores. In 2018 the brand was sold to J-B Weld, an adhesives and repair company, so this page lists it as acquired. Terms were not disclosed. J-B Weld now sells the repair wrap on Amazon under the name FiberWeld. When that name change happened has not been confirmed. The old FiberFix website showed only a near-empty page when we checked. Buyers looking for the product should search for the J-B Weld listing rather than the original brand name. The sales milestones and the sale to J-B Weld are covered in the update below.

FiberFix Shark Tank update: is it still in business?
FiberFix is a repair wrap made of resin-coated fiberglass. You wet it, wrap it around a broken handle or leaking pipe, and it hardens. Founders Eric Child and Spencer Quinn, who started the company as BYU students, pitched in Season 5, in an episode that aired October 25, 2013. They made a deal with Lori Greiner for $120,000 for 12% of the company, according to the company's press release and BYU's Y Magazine. Y Magazine reported that 45,000 packs sold on QVC the day after the episode aired, and that the product later reached Home Depot, Lowe's and independent hardware stores. In October 2018, J-B Weld, a maker of adhesives and repair products, announced that it had acquired the FiberFix brand from Spark Innovation, according to a PR Newswire release and local radio station KSST. Terms were not disclosed. Is FiberFix still in business? As a product line, yes. When we checked on October 14, 2026, fiberfix.com loaded only a near-empty page, and J-B Weld's store on Amazon was selling the repair wrap under the name FiberWeld.
