About Copa di Vino

Copa di Vino is a wine brand from The Dalles, Oregon, that sells single servings of wine in sealed, stemless plastic glasses, so the wine can be opened and drunk without a bottle or corkscrew. James Martin founded the company. Martin appeared on Shark Tank twice with the same company. His first pitch aired in Season 2, Episode 1, and he returned in Season 3, Episode 11. Both times he received interest from the sharks, and both times he turned down the terms and left without a deal. ABC and Sony promoted the return episode around that unusual history. His Season 2 ask was not captured from a reliable source, so it is not listed here. The product's appeal is convenience: each glass is a single, sealed serving. Martin told reporters the business had grown considerably between his two appearances. In late 2020, Splash Beverage Group completed a purchase of Copa di Vino, which it announced in a press release and disclosed in an SEC filing. This page lists the brand as acquired. A later filing mentions a licensing agreement, but we have not reviewed it, so we cannot say who produces the wine today. The copadivino.com website is still online but has not been updated in several years. Because no shark invested, none holds a stake from the show. The sales growth Martin described and the acquisition are covered in the update below.

Copa di Vino Shark Tank update: is it still in business?

Copa di Vino sells wine by the glass: single servings in sealed, glass-shaped plastic cups. Founder James Martin pitched on Shark Tank twice. He first appeared in Season 2, in an episode that aired March 20, 2011. He came back in Season 3, in an episode that aired April 13, 2012. A press release for the return episode from ABC and Sony billed him as the entrepreneur who dared to turn down the sharks twice. ABC News reported that on his return Martin asked for $600,000 for 30% of the business and again walked away without a deal. In the same report, Martin said the company had grown from about $500,000 in revenue at his first appearance to more than $25 million in total sales. In December 2020, Splash Beverage Group announced that it had completed its acquisition of Copa di Vino, in a Newsfile release and an SEC filing. Is Copa di Vino still in business? When we checked on October 14, 2026, copadivino.com was live but showed a 2021 copyright. We could not confirm who produces the wine today, so we describe the brand as acquired and do not make claims about current operations.
